Which part of today's video was most helpful for you — the Rule of 3? Cutting pups? That secret trick at the end? 👀
🌿 And if you're new here, don't be shy — say hi and let us know where you're growing from!
I feel attacked with that thumbnail
Hey, look, Ollie and Otis got deir hairs cut!! Look good!
What do we feed them ?
I have potted bananas. I hope one day to bring them to a warmer climate 😊
I just bought some banana plants yesterday so glad I seen this video it will be a great help for the future!
Have you forgotten you have a homestead site?
I need tips on pruning peach, nectarine, and apricot trees. I have had branches break and get weird curled leaves.
You've made me want to grow them! I live in Las Vegas and live on a half acre, so I have space for them. I need to bring in good still for sure! That seems to be my excuse for not gardening. My soil is hard and rocky.😢
That's what she said.
I planted 3 bananas nearly 3 years ago and put mushroom compost and horse manure around the base. I have taken out about 11 baby plants for people who wanted them but other than that I just let them go. We have about 10 bunches at the moment. I have had so many comments on how healthy they look. I have only watered them about 5 times since planting and this is because I leave the trunks to rot at the base to feed and mulch the rest.
Chickens and horses also love to eat the leaves ❤

Can you start a plant from a banana 🍌? Or does it have to be a plant?
I had two cavendish and now I have 6. lol. I’m in zone 8b and wintered them in my garage. They didn’t produce fruit last year so hoping they will this year. This was very informative thank you.
I can’t grow bananas BUT I can grow bananas plants/ trees……..6a growing zone, the foliage looks great in my garden and I can pretend I’m somewhere tropical ! They stay in the ground all winter long and I haven’t mulched them 🥺I may get a better result if I do ? 🪻🌷💚🙃
Thanks for the banana video! Now need one later for harvest!
At first I thought this was an Ed commercial.
Thank you Brian. Very informative! 🪻🌷💚🙃
Ollie and Otis got a haircut
I live in New Jersey so I am not growing bananas – I also have a fairly small yard so I tend to plant things that are not labor intensive and don’t take up much space. But I do enjoy watching your videos and learning new things so that is why I watched this one. It was very interesting to learn about banana “families”. I might even try growing one in the future as I do tend to eat them often to help with leg cramps. Thanks as always for your informative videos. I also subscribe to your homestead channel and am anxiously awaiting the upcoming birth!
So banana plants only produce fruit once in its life?
Now I want to grow bananas Brian. Thanks for teaching us how to grow them. They are delicious when you grow them yourself. A friend of mine had 10 plants.
Oh my goodness , Ollie and Otis have hair cuts. Did I miss something on the homestead channel? No bananas here in newly labeled zone 4. I am grateful for Costco. Loved the show always learning.
Do you only prune it once for the season?
I'm glad you showed this. Too much work for my 74 year old body. 😮
Yes I'm trying to. I have 3 and one had pups there are 3. They were a foot tall in January of 24. I heard it's 18 months. We live in North Florida zone 9. on the Gulf of America side.
Do the shredded leaves impact fruit production?
