What is this plant? And does it go dormant when gone unwatered?

Nasturtiums are annuals, meaning they die completely at the end of their season. They reseed very easily, though, so next year brand new ones will pop up.

Nasturtium. The leaves add a peppery flavor to salads, the flowers can be used as an edible garnish, and the pickled seed pods make an excellent caper substitute.

    It dies when not watered.

It is an annual plant that needs to reseed if you want it to grow again..

Fortunately with that many flowers, you have a good chance that it will make some seeds

I brought one of these home about 26 years ago. They still carpet the back yard every summer.

  5. Nasturtiums and they are yummy too. Very peppery.

My scottish grandmother had these in her garden and they came back, year after year. I loved watching a drop of water roll around the leaves. Good memories
