Neighbor gave me some leftover sod to fill a spot I have. Is this thing salvageable?
Like the title says my neighbor gave me some extra rolls of TTF sod. I laid the first out and it looks like death. Is this thing able to be saved with water and sun? Or should I just not put the rest down and toss it all?

That looks more than dead to me
I’ve dug up some of my sod and transferred before and it does fine. Water it and wait, best case scenario it’ll start to turn green lol
That’s pretty dead to me
lol neighbor gave you junk he didn’t feel like throwing away himself
I’m in agreement with others.
That is dead and your neighbor gave you his trash.
Probably not, but since you’ve already got it in water heavily and spray a little starter fertilizer and see if you get any growth in a couple days.
No.
lmfao! U sure your neighbor likes you?
Put some jam on that because it’s toasted
Honestly i’ve had luck, break up the dirt underneath it so its not on compacted soil, keep it damp, and you may be surprised.
No offense but are you serious? This obviously is dead and not saveble
Lol, did you just plop it on top and walk away for a year? Your neighbor doesn’t like you.
Seen some dead looking stuff come back. Its already there. Decent water schedule. Give it a few weeks.
Toss it. If it were a warm season grass it might recover and fill back but fescue won’t.
It’s at least some free dirt
Mine looked like that, same situation. Leave the sprinklers on 2x for a week maybe it comes back, maybe it won’, mine did
I’ve been surprised the following spring how spots like that come back.
here, YOU throw this away
grass like this can surprise you
water it, do a light fertilizer and then seed over it to capitalize on the roots
Give us a pic in a few weeks
Take his and return that
Boom, free fill dirt.
i would be willing to bet anyone this sod will come back
Water it and see what happens
Water daily for 10 days and the truth will reveal itself.
I’ve put down worse than that and it came back, it will just take awhile.
You might be surprised. Water the piss out of it.
