   I was so excited to post I couldn’t even type. 1 purple flower bloomed. lol

   The pink thing isn’t a flower. It’s called “bract” and is a bunch of modified leaves. Bromeliads make those to be noticed by pollinators and then most bromeliads have very small inconspicuous actual flowers
