I'm looking for advice on my plant.

I planted it as a little tiny stickling a couple of years ago, but frankly was not familiar with how to maintain it (or the hazards of the sap). It's gone bonkers in the pot and is a bit of a challenge to get by. There's another succulent in the pot with it that probably needs its own pot too.

I'm trying to decide whether I should severely trim it back to try and keep it low in my entryway, or repot it / move it or put in-ground to what would be a more exposed area. I'm on the southeastern coast of the US so we get heavy thunderstorms etc in the summers and sometimes get into the twenties overnight in the winters. It's been protected from heavy rain/wind/ where it is now because of the porch, but does get a lot of sun.

I'm looking for advice or resources that would tell me ideally how to prune it if I need to, or maybe if I should be repotting it and staking it to help it grow straight? I just don't know that it would do well out in the open here. I'm just not sure how best to handle this plant. 😂

  1. I’m in Florida and these grow SUPER fast here. I’d say whack it in half and stick the other half in the ground and watch it take off. If it gets too cold you can dig it up for winter but mine have taken 37 at night before and as long as you cover them with a sheet and it warms up the next day to high 40s to mid 50s it’ll be fine. They are tough plants when grounded.
