    My cat LOOOOOVES strawberry runners. He actually pulls them out and brings them inside to play with. He doesn’t care for leaves or flowers, just the runners. I have stepped on so many dead and chewed up runners waking up because he leaves them next to the bed 😂

    My strawberry growing knowledge has increased over the years and I thank you for such great 'schooling'! I tried animal bedding one year and too much of it disappeared with the wind. I now use Gardenstraw Mini. It's very small and fine, but has enough weight to withstand all except the highest winds. Very clean, no seeds, no weeds!

    Hey great video… I put landscape fabric, to keep weeds down. Should I put shavings on top to keep strawberries from laying on fabric ? Longtime subscriber . Thank you. Craig. Pa.

    I was behind on planting my new bare root strawberries, and waited too long. Kept them in the bag, when I was ready all the crowns rotted. Lesson learned.

    My strawberries are just waking up now but my dog is INSISTING that bed is the comfiest spot in the garden to lay. 🤦‍♀ I just blocked it off with all the big pots but they look like they are bouncing back – hopefully a little fertilizer will perk them up.

    Question?! 🙋🏼‍♀️ For the animal bedding, what kind specifically? I see ones that are white, colored, some that are pine, some cedar, which do you recommend or does that not matter?

    I'm trying three varieties this year in a strawberry planter. I'm wondering if the planter will become simply full of roots in a few years.

    If where my strawberries are has had them suffer from botrytis fruit rot despite me doing a decent job cleaning up debris, is it worth simply starting over in a new bed and avoiding planting strawberry starts in that bed for several years? I find that to be my issue these days, I had it early in my strawberry growing career and despite Canadian winters being extremely cold, it seems to always reappear each year leading me to believe the dormant to eventual active fungal pressure has become too high in that bed. Thanks!
