You did a fab job of pruning the willow. I was going to say to you if you take your clippings that you took off your tree, if you put them in water, they will sprout roots in a couple of weeks and you will have more willows. They grow super fast. We had a willow that we started from a tiny little branch and we had a big tree in about four years. We then took slips off of our tree and gave them to neighbours to start their own trees.
