  1. It really helps to research the species you are seeing. Not all bugs are the same and will seek moisture, dry areas, warm areas or dead vegetation. I had a bad pill bug infestation until I removed dead foliage and moisture in that area. Poisons did nothing.

  2. Oh my God I had moved into an apartment and the first night when it got dark we started seeing roaches come out, the whole apartment building was infested.. in the evening if I went over to the oven or stove to try to cook my children food the moment I opened a cabinet they would go running up the back of my oven in my cabinets and I am OCD about cleaning because I grew up in a dirty house.. roaches literally would cause me to have complete panic attacks I hate them, literally my whole nervous system will completely stopped. Well shortly after that we had to move into a hotel and that hotel was infested with f**** roaches. I lived there for 9 years but I kept my room super clean we always had peppermint and just sense that they didn't like, and there were so many other nasty rooms that we did not see them that often, but when I did I would just want to die I literally would start crying.. we have been in our new home for a little over a year and I've only seen two and I think they were water bugs.. but the first one that I saw, I started praying out to Jesus and damning Satan to hell because this is my beautiful home that I've been waiting so long for.. so I can't do bugs, you do not have any irrational fear it is a pest that is trying to get into your safe home, this is y'all's home your sanctuary and these things are not invited

  3. Washing or baking soda and isopropyl alcohol in a spray bottle with water … we googled it to help with bedbugs, but it worked on a bunch of things. It dries out their exterior.

And baking soda mixed with powdered sugar where pets can’t get it, so under toasters, behind fridge and stove. My daughter had no roaches in 7 days and after 10, apparently the building had none too. You can do it as a powder or mix in a bit of hot water until it forms a syrup for ants.

  4. Diatomaceous earth is helpful you can sprinkle that everywhere and it sticks to them and they can't get it off. It's like glass and digs into them until they die. You have to reapply every time it rains.

  5. Wishing y’all the best 🙏 I’m from TX and had one land on my face when I was younger…I feel your fear 🫥

  6. I hope it worked because the cockroaches love our rock beds… and after a few years so the Weeds. It looks nice though… chickens are helping keep bug populations down.

  7. When I was a kid, my parents rented a house that had wall that was all glass. We thought it was so pretty we could see the whole backyard. Then night came and it was covered in roaches…

  8. get some cats, outdoor cats will eat bugs and vermin if they are good mousers..usually maine coon cats

  9. I hope you dont live somewhere like Florida, those rocks will make your yard and house extremely hot in the summer. Bugs are natural. They are part of the ecosystem.

  10. When weeds start growing through the rocks, you can use vinegar to kill them instead of herbicides, they cause cancer. Children and pets are at higher risk because they are closer to the ground, where its sprayed, and get more exposure.

  11. Add handrails for safety.. 2 steps can be dangerous! I almost fell down mine two days ago!! Thank goodness for the railing!

  12. Oh man, I’m so glad I live somewhere where there aren’t roaches like that!!! Terrifying

  13. I dont blame you Roaches give me shivers! .spiders? No problem! Flies ? No biggie. But roaches I can't do.

  14. As a former Floridian, if you have an oak tree in your yard, you will have roaches in your yard and they will try and get in.

Word to the wise, beware of the oak trees…they are breeding grounds for roaches of various kinds.

  15. Any cracks under your home dust with diatomaceous earth. Any leftover critters with exoskeletons will not survive contact. It is safe around animals/humans and is not a pesticide. Just make sure you use a proper dust mask when applying. Do not apply inside the home, only outdoors. Not good to breathe it in so not for indoor use. I keep it in the cracks of my garage floor, haven't had qn ant problem in 17 years! We used to get them every summer till my grandfather advised me.

  16. It’s ok to be scared of bugs but it’s always good to remember they are nature’s janitors! The cockroaches are there to clean up the mess from the previous owners, it’s their ecological niche! That being said you don’t want to live with them as they can carry diseases, but just keep in mind they’re trying to help! Also if you use any pesticides make sure their natural pesticides and safe for other animals, some pesticides can cause bio magnification, basically meaning the killing chemicals climb up the food chain and hurt other animals like squirrels, birds and other things!

  17. I live in Virginia. After seeing a cockroach in Florida on vacation, the sheer size of them and they fly 😬 doesn't seem extreme at all to me!

  18. Oh the flower planters on the windows maaaake that place. Its so quiant. I like it. I also understand wishing to have a place for the baby to play. Its something im dealing with now in my upstairs apartment… talking to the land owner in hopes to make a nice, kid-safe area. 👍

  19. As a chain smoker, i am so sorry for the previous owners behaviour, cigarette ettiquette has completely disappeared, i carry a portable ash tray, yet when in smoking areas i see people dumping butts on the floor instead of the communal ash trays,
