So i just got this today, and i currently have a green snake in it rn, and plan on putting in 3 red eyed rree frogs, some gekos(the really small ones. Dk they're name) and some of the micro fish in the water with shrimp and guppies.

Any advice please?

Snake will likely need better ventilation than you have there. What kind of snake is that?

Guy at the shop said its should be fine🤷‍♂️ gekos will be to fast for him to get and frogs should be fine he said. Snake will eat crickets and small fish and maybe a juvie frog here and there. ( that’s the plan)

What would you add to this is or do differently?

That green snake will need a lot more densely planted set up otherwise it’ll get stressed with time.

I also think you’re going to be overstocking that tank with too many different species.

The guy at the shop told you it’ll be fine coz that’s his job, sell everything in the shop

Pretty tank. But, *absolutely no frogs*. I don’t know a lot about the geckos either ( I’d assume they’re in a similar boat). But please no frogs.

For one, this tank has nowhere enough plantation for any kind of frog to feel safe or happy.

Second, and more importantly, frogs DO NOT do well with any tank mates other than their own species. This snake and the geckos will absolutely stress them out.

Both of those things combined, they will die quickly due to stress. If you want frogs please get a separate tank with lots of plantation and specific parameters.

The guy at the shop is only trying to sell you more animals. Please don’t listen to him. Any frog keeper worth their salt will tell you this is a bad idea. I beg.

Edit: I’d also suggest doing more research on this snake. I feel like this tank needs way more plantation in general to keep him happy. But even with more plants… still… please no frogs.

None of your animals chosen should be put in this tank. Please research and re-think. Absolutely never together. Stop listening to your shop, they don’t know what the hell they are talking about. Jeesh.

rough green snakes already do horribly in captivity, probably not the best idea for him
