What’s wrong with her? I adopted this plant from Facebook marketplace and watered her 4 times in the last 2 weeks. First 2, bottom watering, second 2, top watering. Any diagnosis is appreciated! This is the coolest plant I’ve owned 🙁

Mine usually look like this from not enough water b it form your comment it honestly sounds like you’re over watering.

Is it a real copper thread? It could react with the soil and affect the plant. Copper can be toxic to roots but I don’t know in which amount that is. Change the soil and remove the pin and see.

Overwatered. Give her significantly more light and get her out of that wet saucer.

  4. Have you checked the roots? Half of mine looked like this recently, but there seemed to be an issue with the cutting taking root, and it wasn’t getting enough water. I’ve put the vine in water hoping it roots, but maybe since yours is a facebook marketplace thing they just put a cutting in soil and it’s not rooting properly or something – just a thought! Definitely looks thirsty to me…

It that a hanger? I would suggest a moss pole or a bamboo stick. Metal can react with certain plants and the soil. Remove it and use something else to use or even use a chopstick for now. Change the soil gently . Don’t water as much. 4 times in 2 weeks is too much. I wouldn’t water any plant unless you can put your forefinger in the soil and it is dry to the second knuckle. I like using the Plantin app for diagnosis too if I’m not sure what is wrong. It’s not too late. It’s complaining. You can still save it.

Watering wayyyy too often, and she should never be sitting in water either unless actively bottom watering.

  7. A few things: check roots for root rot – overwatering. Roots will stink and be mushy. Just cut off the bad roots, get dry fresh soil and replant. Also place it in a little more bright indirect light.

That Terra cotta pot is a great indicator, look at the pot color, it is saturated! I use Terra cotta (clay) pots for nearly all my plants so I can easily test the soil saturation and amount of time it takes to dry. Nothing wrong with having a saucer underneath to catch excess water, but not good to let it sit in the water. Clay pots absorb water so letting it sit in the water defeats the ability to watch the pot.

Yikes. These only need watering when they get part way dry. And need the ability to drain any extra water

You might want to check her for signs of root rot, I just had to re-pot mine because the pot it was in didn’t have proper drainage and this is what it was looking like. There was a little bit of damage, but she has perked up really well since!!

Why are you watering so much? Has it been wilted like this the entire time?

Hot take: give it a wood board. It will shingle!

Move her out of the terracotta pot. Get her in a pot with a water reservoir and self-wicking mechanism. You might need some new chunky soil mix

That’s a lot of water! Less water, way less and more light. Check the roots for rot.
