Hi! A newbie here. I got a monstera and calathea 3-4 days back from Home Depot. They looked decently healthy and I thought they would be good for my first house plants. The care guide said that I should water when the top inch gets dry. I watered after I got them but the top inch ran dry in just a day. I watered again and it became dry once again. This is more severe for the monstera. These are 10-12 inch tall plants in a 6 inch grower pot. I took the pot out of the planter to check, and some roots are showing out of the bottom of the pot. Also, water is collected in the bottom of the planter. Seems like the soil is not retaining water. The top layer of soil also seems to be pretty loose unlike what I have seen for outdoor plants at my parents' place. Should I be repotting with fresh soil, larger pot or give it a few weeks to see how they respond to watering once a week?
There is plenty of indirect light and I am also spraying water on the leaves.
