Does anyone know what might be causing this brown spot? It started on the lower segment and has now spread to the second. Should I prune off the brown parts? Could something I’m doing be causing this?
It's been growing indoors on a west-facing window sill. There's a drainage hole in the bottom of the planter, and I water it once a week. I know it's bad, but I potted it in Miracle-Gro Cactus, Palm and Citrus Potting Mix For Potted Plants.
I grew this from a cutting — the longest branch took off first, and now a second offshoot has started growing. Would love any advice! Thank you!

Mine gets this all the time and I don’t know what causes it. Maybe overwatered
Likely overwatered. Or injured and now rotting there.
It looks like too much water to me. Its a desert plant, so its roots need air as well as moisture. Rather than watering on a schedule, I suggest waiting until the top 2″ of soil dries out. We aim for damp soil at the bottom of the pot, never wet. It stores water in the leaves, that’s why they’re fleshy and firm, so you can even let it dry out until the leaves start to empty. And don’t let the pot sit in a puddle, discard any excess water that drains out
Pot size matters too. In a pot, the soil needs roots to draw up the water. If that was a cutting, then there has maybe been a lot of soil staying wet too long, that’s when things start to rot. So I would keep the pot size small, until roots are wanting to escape through the drainage hole, and go up by 1″ width at a time.
Treat with copper sulfate.
Seems like it might be in a too organic mix…might want to repot…also does it have drainage?
