Recipe for Dandelion Shea and Coconut oil homemade Lotion:
Materials needed….
medium sized pan/pot
Coconut oil ….1 cup
Shea butter … Half cup
Dandelion flower tops … Half to whole cup
Something to strain out the oil with
Place the coconut oil, Shea butter and the dandelions into the pot. Start simmering those together on very low heat for about 2 hours. This allows the nutrients of the Dandelions to fuse with the oils. Remember to stir quite often. After about 2 to 3 hours take the mixture off the heat and let it cool down a bit before handling. Safety over time. After the mixture has cooled a little, carefully pour it into a jar of choice (this will yield about 1 and a half cups of lotion) using your strainer to catch the dandelion flower bits. I recommend using a cheesecloth for this step. After you have your liquid lotion into the jar(s) you will let it cool until it solidifies. I personally like to stir the oil often through it's cooling process to keep everything fused.
After your lotion has cooled it can be used for all skin needs including bug bites, sunscreen, muscle aches and skin repair. The list could go on and on. This stuff is great.
***You don't have to use any dandelions to make this either. This lotion is great just the two oils or you can substitute for other flowers or essential oil*****
