Probably would’ve been better with like 6’ pieces but I did the front one at 45” and the rear at 51”. Have a lawn that’s super compacted, mostly clay (Colorado Front Range). Aerated a couple weekends ago, but have aerated a few times, kinda helps but not really. If this doesn’t work, going to just till it all next spring and start over.

The DIY leveler worked surprisingly well!

  2. Next up is seed and fertilizer and tons of water! And bathing my children who have played in the pile of dirt in the back of my truck all morning.

Huh, gives me an idea to just make one for my rider mower. Thanks, this fall is gonna be easier.

Are you top dressing with organic materials after aerating?

  5. Honestly, I have a leveling rake and a DIY 2×4 drag and preferred the drag!

Good thing you have two of those wheel barrows. Should make the work a lot quicker!
