Just spray before you leave for work. She ain’t gonna notice lol

Sounds like you need to break out the big ol torch

Wait….are we still talking about the lawn??

  4. Have fun pulling by hand then! Flame weeded may work, but only before you lay down seed. Maintenance weeding will need to be done by hand if you can’t spray

Looks like a perfect opportunity to get a blowtorch 🔥

  6. I think you should let her know you need to get it under control.

You can try verbal disparagement, but the weeds have a hard time hearing

Funny how they don’t want to damage the ground when they aren’t the ones crawling around on the ground pulling f@#!ING weeds. Just saying

Let her pull them. She’ll pull 3. Then make you go to Home Depot to get the spray

I’m a lawn noob, but I wonder if focusing on grass growing is more important. Seems like all that open dirt will always attract weeds. When grass is established it can play defense

get a digging fork, go over the whole area, should be easier to break up the soil afterwards and pull out all of them

Just weed and feed. Don’t let doggo on it for a day and good to go.

You’ll just have to see who can overseed the most. You or the weeds. /s

  14. A Grandpa’s Weeder actually makes weeding kinda fun – you can get your kids involved as well if you have them.

For dandelions, hand-pulling is actually a pretty fantastic option. Good compromise would be no herbicides, but buying a weed-puller instead.

  16. Let her take care of the weeds then and break her own back

Just rough up The surface, mix in some better earth if needed and overseed. I don’t see the point in being Scared of having a few dandelions on the lawn.
Useful insects are dying of fast enough already.

Don’t pull dandelion, use a tool… A soil knife (sharp trowel like a hori hori) to slide into the root crown will take care of everything in your photo in 5 minutes.

If you do other weeding and don’t want to get up and down from the ground, then invest in a diamond hoe. It’s my favorite tool. It slides under the surface to pop root crowns, and its sharp corners can be used for precision work. Most versatile tool I’ve used, and I’m a farmer so I’ve tried many!

  19. Holy shit I didn’t realize this subreddit was so into the boomer “I hate my wife” humor. Damn.

No, you can spray them when she’s not home.
