The first bloom opened on my Metro Star dahlia! I’m in love with its huge magenta flowers. This dahlia is perfect for tucking into the back of a flowerbed because of its taller growth habit. I grew this plant from a tuber, and I’ve been so impressed with its strong stems and overall beauty. It seems to be more resistant to pests—at least aphids. There’s a white Snow Country dahlia planted right next to it that I’ve had to spray for aphids twice now, but this Metro Star dahlia seems to be unbothered!
