The Magic Of Sweet Potatoes!

Let me introduce you to the magic of sweet potatoes! 😃🍠 If you’re new to sweet potatoes & it’s your first time growing them, i recommend you watch this video! 👌

So sweet potato is a vine plant, it is cable of rooting at each leaf node! But not only that, it is also cable of storing energy from there too to from more sweet potatoes! 😃🍠 So you can just buy 1 slip(slips are vines, either grown and removed from the sweet potato root that sprouted, or cut off from an established vine/plant) let it grow out for a month, then either bury some of the vines or cut them off to turn into new plants in a new location! 😃🙌 So technically you have an infinite supply of sweet potato plants, as long as the weather stays warm that is! I’ve always purchases around 1-3 slips from the garden center, and after a month, start cutting off vines from the established plant to form entirely new plants! 💪

Now while the vines will root down & grow some more sweet potatoes, i do not recommend burying so many vines that is connected from the 1 plant, because this will result in more smaller sweet potato roots instead! You can bury a few vines here and there that still connect to the main plant, but better to cut them off or cut the vines to plant in a new pot/location! 👏

So if you have a large growing space, have a long warm growing season, want to save some money, just buy a slip or 2, let it grow out for a month, cut a few vines from it to plant in a new location, continue to remove from the oldest/original plant or cut vines from the new plants that you planted, and basically there’s your endless supply of slips/vines to plant 🙂🙌🍠
