Hi everyone, this is my 3rd money plant tree, I water once a week but I put it at the bottom where there is plate to hold the water and a thread to soak it up into the pot.
The light it gets is fairly average, no direct sunlight, although earlier I kept it in a spot where it would get direct light for 1.5 hours on 30% of the plant and I would make sure to rotate it every so often. I saw some burnt spots so I decided to move it to a spot which has less direct light.
Now I have moved it to a spot which is cooler and receives less light. I have also installed a humidifier.
Once I moved it in this new spot I saw the yellowing worsen.
This is my third home and my third money tree. I apologize if I am doing something drastically wrong but any feedback here will help.

I have tried less watering/ more watering as people has told me before that it could be under watering and over watering, both. I have tried anything I can possibly do. I’m afraid I’ll kill this beautiful tree too. Sigh
Money trees are incredibly hard to keep happy. I think though, that it didn’t like being moved from the direct sunlight spot to where it is now as its leaves are turning yellow. The less sunlight it gets the less it needs all of its foliage.
Same here.

Mine did that for a while, almost lost every leaf on the entire thing but it’s showing signs of a strong recovery…
Stick your finger in the spoil 1-2 inches…it should feel cool and just slightly moist…if you can’t put your finger in the soil because it’s too hard then it’s not getting enough water..if the soil feels a bit mushy, then you’re getting to much.
I also added some coffee grounds & eggshells to the water and that seems to have helped it a lot. Also do not ever use cold water on a plant which is something I didn’t know either, always use room temp or slightly warmer.
These are very finicky plants from what I’m learning, I wish I had a spot where mine got more sunshine but again they will adapt if taken care of.
So, normally I wouldn’t tell people to take a plant out of the pot but I watched a video from a plant store recently about how many big store money trees usually come tied with a weird thing by the roots that can kind of “choke” them and that we should take those off if we buy one. I haven’t looked into the big tree I have (I’m pretty sure it’s too late for it anyway) but checked a smaller plant I had and sure enough, there was a weird thick rubber band that had already broken one of the trunks that died.
Just saying, if you can’t figure out the issue it’s worth checking.
Definitely repot, the coco “soil” is only meant for greenhouse conditions give it fresh soil with a bunch of orchid bark and perlite
