It seemed happy and grew a lot last summer and then in the last 2 months it’s got more and more purple (and a bit silver) wrinkly and unhappy, I’m wondering if it’s too bright in the window? Although I only get direct sunlight for a few hours in the afternoon and I live in the UK where it’s springtime now with some sunnier days but
temperatures are not that high. My room is very warm though, I usually keep window open a bit to circulate air as the house gets really stuffy as we had issues with the heating pipes. Maybe I should repot this and see what’s going on with the root? I last watered it 2 weeks ago and have been away and not at home and it looks worse than it did before I left

When you watered, did you soak the soil completely until water ran out the bottom of the pot?
This plant looks extremely thirsty. Either
A) You are not watering sufficiently
B) The roots have rotted from improper soil and cannot take up water
My amateur advice, having grown jade plants in Canada, is to remove from the pot, examine roots for rot, and re-pot in appropriate substrate.

I would give it a big soak (put it in some sort of container that can hold water, water it thoroughly and then let it sit in the water overnight). Wait a few days to see if the leaves absorb the water. If not, you have a root problem. If yes, you just need to water more thoroughly.
Soak the pot completely in water, it looks like your soil is hydrophobic (repelling the water) you’ve been trying to give it. I would fill the tub or large container with water and completely soak that pot in it until the soil is soaking wet then let dry and water it normally after that
Try this:
Get a pitcher of water about the same size of the pot. Pour a little water on the soil and wait for it to sink in. Then pour a little more, wait for that to sink in. Pour more, wait, pour, wait and do that until you’ve emptied the pitcher. Let the pot drain. It should now be noticably heavier.
If the water sinks very slowly, get a skewer, pierce the soil all the way to the bottom om the pot and wiggle it around to break up the soil
The soil should be dry again all through the pot after about a week. Let it sit dry for a couple of weeks then water again with the pitcher.
If the soil is very compact and takes a long time to absorb the water you should replace it with grittier soil
