I just purchased a euphorbia plant from Home Depot about a week ago and when I first brought it home, I noticed what looked like the typical latex sap on the plant, but upon closer inspection, I noticed that it is actually powdery and looks like some type of mildew or a problem that is spreading, but I have sprayed my euphoria with Neem oil before and destroyed them so I want to be very careful with how I treat this? I was thinking maybe using straight Teatree oil, but I’m afraid that it could ruin the plant, any advice please?

Yes
Farina can be powdery and is normal. Is that what you are seeing?
Most plants I’ve encountered have been fine with hydrogen peroxide on this.
It does look like it could be powdery mildew. Put a fan on it 24/7 until it clears up. That should do it, but if you want to be extra safe you could do a combo of copper fungicide followed by a sulphur fungicide. This is what I did when p.m. started affecting my succulent bed. An initial double dose of fungicides, and then a fan during winter, every winter, seems to keep it from happening again. I personally haven’t tried peroxide on anything. I did smother a polygona with sulphur powder one time when it was getting infested with mealies. That actually stopped them dead in their tracks somehow, band the plant came out unscathed even though I had way too much raw sulphur powder piled up on all the grow points. They are resilient plants, I bet it would handle a dose of peroxide no problem if you want to give it a try.
thank you for your detailed response. I really appreciate it.! I think you are right that it is powdery mildew, luckily it’s warm enough that I moved it outside and put it in direct sunlight thinking that that would clear it up, but it has not so far, so I think I am going to try the powdered sulfur and see if that helps it because I’m just very worried about using any type of oil on it because of what happened when I used neem oil mixed with a little bit of soap on my euphorbias, even without any sunlight, they were still scarred, so I think that euphorbias in general are sensitive when it comes to different oils being put on their body. Thanks for the advice!
I know what you guys are talking about with the natural powder on their body, but no, I’m talking about some type of fuzzy white substance on the smaller heads. If you look closely, I think it might be powdery mildew?
