When I began my gardening journey, my backyard was nothing but a clear cut lot of sand, weeds and fire ants. In the last 7 years, I transformed my ordinary yard into a food forest overflowing with abundance, a Garden of Eden in the suburbs. In this video, I give you a tour of the hundreds of fruit trees and vegetables that make my yard a true food paradise and share how I brought so much abundance to a simple 8,000 sq ft backyard.

  2. I live in a suburb east of Raleigh. You're my go to for "can I grow this here?" And after this tour I'm even more inspired to expand into citrus and fruit trees in general. My backyard ends in forest, and I've found cultivating the ground gives me the edge over the forest reclaiming my yard, but it's a constant back and forth.

  3. We are doing it the same chipping a way a few hours at a time, and due to my disability I have a carer/friend helping now and it’s spreading it up

  4. You are SO helpful! I live in the Raeford/Fayetteville area of North Carolina. I am pursuing my first vegetable/fruit/flower garden in our first home! Plus improving landscaping and overall grass coverage. To quote my husband, we want the most “luscious lawn” in the neighborhood!

  5. I had the same, a blank canvas 4 years ago. Still not ready with planting. Everytime i learn more about fruits i did not know before. This friday 2 new figs are coming✌🏼 sad i can not show you a picture would be awsome to see from a lot of people from 0 till now

  6. That is a TREMENDOUS amount of produce. I can't imagine you eat all of this. Do you preserve, sell or donate any that you don't eat???? Thanks.

  7. We have a 1 acre property, but it has very little flat land, almost all hills and slopes it makes it much more challenging.

Any tips on growing things on uneven surfaces like hills?

  8. Thank you SO much for your citrus video. I'm in Raleigh so finding a great youtuber in a similar climate, you're a Godsend! 😀
I'm currently planning my own mini orchard, I wasn't going to add any citrus because I thought that wasn't possible, NOW I'm going to add some satsuma oranges as you suggested.
Mangos are my favorite. Have you ever tried to grow mangos in NC? They have the same minimum temp as most of the citrus. Would mangos work in our climate with the same measures as the citrus? Why or why not?

  9. Very organized and looking beautiful! I thought I watched a video that you and your family had plans to move to Florida. Was that an old video perhaps? Thanks

  10. Love your garden and videos, but I also love your speech pattern! You speak in the passive ('So exceptional is it, that..' and I just love it. Not many people speak like that, and it is very unique in today's world!! Also…. FIGS!!! you must be Fragile, I mean, Italian!!! lolol
