  1. There are also orchards on North Manitou Island from when it was a farming community that still fruit! Quite tasty too. Don't know if its accessible anymore with how the docks need redone and the transit ferry may not go.

  2. At any point will any of these rare apples be able to be grafted for any of us peeps? Over between Northville and South Lyon…will pay.

  3. Adaptation within a species… Darwin tried to prove evolution.. evolution is going from one species to another and there is never been any proof. God is Good Jesus is king

  4. As for animal mutations. it does not take that long of time. The Spanish dropped off Iberian pigs on Ossabaw island off Georgia. Because the plants there were so tightly bound the hogs mutated into a very small variety, but when they were taken off the island and put into normal conditions for hogs they bloated right back up to standard size. Most domestic pigs are very few generations from showing feral genetic markers coming back up if they escape.

  5. Old Apple Varieties. There is an old man in NC that has spent his life researching, gathering and growing old time apple Varieties. I can't think of his name, but he goes to the Apple Festival in Lincolnton NC with samples every fall. The Festival is usually in September. He has lists available and will talk to anyone interested in growing their own old variety trees. I'll try to find his contact info if you're interested. Just remember the Apple Festival in Lincolnton NC. That's my hometown, but I no longer live there.

  6. Yeah, you got it bad, Luke. Horticulture is addictive, esp if you've found an interesting niche. It bit me a few yes ago & now my seed stash is … ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ™„

  7. Thanks for sharing. Never heard of this place. Love the documentary, this channels has come a long way.

  8. Hey Luke. I fished around that island several times for smallmouth. I should of grabbed an apple to plant seeds. ๐Ÿ˜…

  9. The world's most remote (Deep Ocean) island is Tristan da Cunha, a place I would like to live and set up a nice earth shelter type of home and a permacultured food-forest. There are about 200 people living there, it is also a major bird sanctuary, well, the top of it is anyway. All of these isolated places have some interesting differences, but Tristan da cunha needs more fruit trees.

  10. I find this content absolutely amazing. I would love to purchase a few trees from you to keep these apple genetics going in my own yard. Such an incredible way to preserve history. Please give a heads-up if you decide to sell some trees๐Ÿ˜Šโค

  11. These apple cuttings (seeds) should be in a vault for the world to keep. So interesting. โค
