So this is Betty and Betty has a history of being dramatic. She's usually watered from the bottom and tends to fake-die every once in a while if she's not moist enough, but she usually bounces back a few hours after being watered again. Except it's been 48 hours and she just seems way worst than usual. The leaves in particular are very droppy compared to usual.

The soil was very humid so I repotted her in two pots, one for the parts of her that are more likely the make it, and the second one is more of a hail mary. She's usually out of direct sunlight but as the weather's been very cloudy, I thought that putting her right under the window for a while couldn't hurt. I have no idea what else I can do to help her make it. Is there any chance she'll come back from this ?

On the brighter side the roots seemed fine. It's very important that Betty stays alive because I bought her on my first day of college and my finals are coming up next week. If she can't make it until finals neither can I. Should I try to plant a cutting of still kinda-healthy part of her as a plan B ? Just leave her be and pray ? I could also try a homemade terrarium but I have no idea if it's a good idea after being overwatered.

If anyone has an idea of why she started to die all of a sudden it's also appreciated. I probably overwatered her, but I also suspect that the sudden drop in temperature played a part in this.

Fittonia can be very dramatic when they get dry, but I see other issues here.

I’m betting the pot is too big for the root mass, and the soil is too far below the lip of the pot. I worry that the roots may be getting damaged from being moist for too long.

You may be right about a decrease in light, less light means the plant needs less water.

How long ago did you repot? Did the roots get damaged when you were separating them?
