Carolina Ponysfoot as a native lawn alternative in the Southeast US
Carolina Ponysfoot, Dichondra carolinensis has the makings for a great native lawn alternative in the Southeast US. It's naturally taking over parts of my lawn. It even does well between pavers/bricks with decent foot traffic.
It’s pretty decent as a ground cover. It doesn’t handle foot traffic very well.

It’s beautiful, it popped up in my side yard. Would love to propagate.

I’m letting some take over my side yard.

I’ve inspected a lot of yards for native lawn weeds. I’ve been meaning to make a big list, and this one is certainly on it. It’s in the bindweed family!

Trying to encourage this to cover my yard in Florida. Lots of yard but hopefully it moves decently quick
