This peace lily was given to me after a close family friend’s funeral. I want to keep her alive. But I’m struggling. She’s drooping and turning yellow. Help me save her!!

Is this even a peace lily lol? That’s what I was told.

Yes, it is a peace lily. How often are you watering it? They can be pretty dramatic when thirsty. You can also over water, could be why the leaves are yellowing. I would but off the dead/dying stuff and let it dry out if the soil is wet or water if really dry. Overall they are generally really hard to kill. Keep away from cats if you have any,

Water it! Mine does it all the time it wants to be watered. 🙂

Try bottom watering- place pot in container of water and let plant soak up through the roots. And prune any leaves with 60% or more yellow/brown

  4. Water – they are super dramatic. I use a self watering pot, they like to be damp all the time.

I’m going to take a guess and assume you still have it in the decorative pot in which it was gifted to you, which looks to be on the smaller side and probably doesn’t have any drainage holes. If you’re unable to repot it in something slightly larger, I would ensure that whenever you water it, do so thoroughly over a sink so you can let all of the water drain out so that it’s not sitting in muddy water. Any yellowing leaves can be trimmed off. Shouldn’t need water more than once a week and plenty of indirect sunlight.

I water about once a week. But just check it. It’s easy. Stick your finger in the top inch or two of soil.

If it is wet, then no need to water.

If it is moist then no need to water.

If it is bone dry, then water.

I take it outside or put it in the sink and water it until all the excess water stops running through. Then put it back.

On occasion I leave it outside on a mild day when it will rain. Or I will give its leaves a spray with the hose.

    Try using filtered water too.

It will drop when it’s drying out. That’s how I know when I’m late to water them.
