If I was starting my first cut flower garden this year, I would grow…

1. Dahlias
2. Sunflowers 🌻
3. Zinnias
4. Cosmos 🌸
5. Snapdragons
6. Yarrow
7. Basil
8. Scented Geraniums
9. Amaranth

Sunflowers, zinnias, cosmos, basil, and amaranth are all flowers that are fairly easy to germinate from seed 🌱. Dahlias are typically grown from tubers. Basil, snapdragons and yarrow are smaller seeds, but are fairly easy to germinate. I recommend buying scented geraniums at your local plant nursery. Scented geraniums are one of my favorite bouquet fillers and add an incredible scent and unique greenery to your bouquets. Amaranth creates a unique texture that can either be upright spikes or trailing on the sides of your bouquet.💐

This mix of flowers will give you the right ingredients to make stunning bouquets that are full of texture and varying shapes and sizes.

Are there any flowers that I’m leaving out that you would recommend? 🌸🌻🌼

  1. Lovely! Which sunflowers are those? Love the petals. I have all but one of those scheduled this year! I guess I did good. 😊

  2. Do all sunflower varities grow on tropical zones? Dahlias dont come in seeds though. The snapdragons are so beautiful. ❤

  3. This will be my first year for Dahlias 😍 Also for yarrow do you use the same patch each year and aim for two cuttings? Thank you for your wisdom!

  4. I've been growing all these flowers for years. I'm going to grow them this year for cut flowers though. Yea, I got it right 😄

  5. Cosmos are so beautiful but …. sadly I've tried for a few years an i can never get them to last more then a few days. Is that it or am i missing something?
