Hello,
As mentioned in the title, I am worried that the roots of my ficus are just dead and I need advice before to repot.
For context, the plant didn’t loose a leaf since I got it some two years ago, but also didn’t gain any. It just stands there.
It gets a good amount of indirect light and gets water every now and then (I was scared of root rot and might have gone to the other extreme). Let’s say once a month in winter and a little more often in summer.
There is no sign of rot but I am worried that the roots are just too dry.
How do they look to you?
Also, bonus question: my prayer plant is blooming. Is that good, normal, or a sign of stress? Never happened before.
Thank you!

Why have you washed all of the soil off? They need their soil and mycorrhizal relationships. Repot it and let it recover. Doing this puts your plants into shock.
You shouldn’t casually dig up your plants and wash their roots
It was fine, but it might suffer now. If the roots are too dry, just water the plant in its soil/pot.
This is technically a tree, so it might be needing more light/nutrients to actively grow than some other plants indoors. I’d consider increasing the light and water it every 10 days or so, when the soil dries out. Make sure the soil is soaked and not hydrophobic.
unfortunately your plant is about to go downhill
Yeah I think they could use a bit more soil
