Planted wildflowers 5 days ago. Been watering every evening here in ohio. Are these the start of wildflowers?!?! If so what do I do next? Water nightly still? For how long of so? Thanks in advance.

How did you prepare the soil? What were the seeds and are in need of stratification? (You’d have to look that up by species)

but my guess is this is invasives that were there before 100:1 to things you seeded. It rakes tome and practice to ID things— keep notes. Good luck

Maybe. Be patient. You will know more with time.

  3. Can’t tell with plants that baby. Also, you probably don’t need to water every day.

They all look the same at that age.
    So innocent.

It looks like the soulmate milkweed sprouts in my garden, but it kind of looks like sunflowers too. Hard to say at this stage.

If it’s the only thing you planted here probably. Otherwise these are dormant weeds waking up cause the area is receiving more consistent watering.

This is the game I get to play every day. Is it what I was intending to grow or is it a weed? Is it a weed I want or my mortal enemy from here on out?

Those are definitely fresh seedlings of the same age and type so I’d imagine they’re definitely coming from the seeds you put down!

They look like sunflowers to me but give it a minute and then see!

  9. If you planted seeds 5 days ago, then these are like them! Water when you stick your finger an inch in and it feels dry. Once they get established you only need to water during dry periods or never at all. Also, if you’re new to wildflowers: lots of them actually put out more blooms and do better if you frequently cut them, so feel free to make wildflower bouquets and unless you want seeds definitely deadhead them (cut the flowers off once they are dead).

  10. Please lift them up. Wildflowers are NOT what you think they are. Know what you are planting. Start over with regular seed packets.

Could be anything. You need to wait for true leaves before attempting to identify.
