I bought this beauty 5month ago and everything was good until few weeks ago. some leaves are yellowing and browning but i don’t understand why. i’ve never underwatered or overwatered her but i’ve never fertilised her. i use tap water but i’ve always used it.

Sometimes it can take a while for issues to show up since plants can tend to have a momentum in growth. For example, if it was getting what it needed previously, that momentum carries for a bit until it runs out and is starting to show new care and environmental factors. The yellow leaves may be watering inconsistency. Like not getting to it to water *quite* soon enough. They may also just be old leaves dying off as it grows new ones and reallocates its resources. It would be good to do a diluted fertilizer every month and maybe get some aquarium water conditioner drops to add to tap water. I have found the water conditioner drops in my tap water have eliminated the crispy tips on new leaves.

The leaves with crispy tips will continue to crisp, but new leaves with the adjusted water should be free from them.

I’d say it’s either, or both, lack of humidity and tap water issues which can take time to start showing up. You can let your water sit out over night to evaporate some of the harsh chemicals or use aquarium tap water conditioner(which is what I do for all my plants including my calatheas).

It may be root bound, these plants don’t like being root bound. I would take it out and see, if so pot it in a bigger pot.

  4. I have the same one and mine needed a repotting; perked her right back up.
