MORE ABOUT ME
I’m Anne of All Trades. In NASHVILLE, I have a woodworking, blacksmithing and fabrication shop, a selection of furry friends, and an organic farm. Whether you’ve got the knowledge, tools, time or space to do the things you’ve always wanted to do, everything is “figureoutable.”
I became “Anne of All Trades” out of necessity. With no background in farming or making things, I wanted to learn to raise my own food, fix things when they break and build the things I need.
12 years ago I got my first pet, planted my first seed and picked up my first tool.
My goal is to learn and share traditional techniques and skills while showing my peers how to get from where they are to where they want to go, how to do the things they are passionate about, and what can be done TODAY to engage their own community and grow deep roots.
Whether it’s carving spoons, making my own hand tools, restoring my antique truck or growing heirloom tomatoes, the farm and workshop definitely keep me busy and support – whether financially through Patreon, through shopping my affiliate links, through buying merchandise, plans or project videos, or even just liking, commenting, and sharing my content with others helps me GREATLY to keep producing quality content to share.

Just like the little fruit growing in your belly.!!
Today is the day April 18th. We're gonna do a home induction to deliver my granddaughter. 38+3.
The hospital will not let her go full term. They're being very negative about some very minor issues. So with the help of a midwife and a dula, we're gonna do it ourselves today at home.
Idk. I have about 50 fruit trees and some are 20ft tall and over 20 years old. They all came from pots. Don’t think bare root is even a thing in my country. I guess because most trees i buy are citrus, olive, mango or avocado and those are evergreen it’s probably not even possible to be bareroot.
WOW thank you
you suggest getting grafting a male kiwi scion to a female kiwi plant, but . . . how do you get just a scion? Wouldn't you have to buy both a male and female plant? Do you go online and put out a want add for male kiwi stems? I love the idea but making it work is left out. I want to grow Kiwi, but noone told me about the male female aspect. I know blueberries require two plants.
I just bought a couple of potted fig stems that were propagated. they have just a few leaves, less than half a dozen. I'm not sure where I want to plant them yet, as my ground is hard clay. I wondered if I could plant this small twig with a leaf into a wide shallow barrel style container to start growing and see if the place I want it to grow is suitable, and transplant it later in Autumn? I have high deer pressure so I'd have to put a cage around it as the deer destroyed my last fig sapling.
Sweet and cheerful presentation!!
With your beautiful energy and positive approach, you can help others, you don’t need any outsiders, (my humble opinion..)😊
I'm in Greenville County, South Carolina, near the North Carolina border. Who is the best supplier of bare root grafted fruit trees in my area?
Great info! Inspiring.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Lazy and fast is always good!
You are soo smart!!
You're showing. SO SO adorable!!!! Many congratulations. So very happy for you!
A local TN fruit would be the Pawpaw fruit! I found a local park that had a few trees with lots or ripe fruit. Though you technically aren’t allowed to take anything out of the park, so I ate them there without washing. They just smelled so good I couldn’t resist!
your awsome
Too humid? So, oranges can't grow in Florida.
can i still grow fruit trees in pots for a balcony garden?
I'm not as young as you are; anything on which I can't see blossoms in 2 years tops, I'm not planting. I want to eat and share my fruits before I pass on..
I can't even grow herbs
Thank you. I love propagation. Grafting is also something I plan to start, now that I have a good garden set up. Thanks.
I absolutely love your can do it attitude and how lively you are! Praying your garden is very fruitful this year.
Does muscardine vine rootstock need to be growing from seeds? Can you just root a cutting ?
This was the coolest thing I've ever learned!!!
How do you tell a female tree from a male?
🙋. Cant do friits. Still looking for colostrum that may give me back my fruits. I may b stubborn also. 🙏
Ack! Stop saying, "literally!" Please. Look up the meaning. It's a revealing discovery. This is actually (appropriate word) a very valuable and well-done video. Thanks, Anne!
I grow in Clearwater Florida. U deserve great things for the apparent humbleness and desires for constant learning like myself
You are so much fun!! Newly subscribed and appreciate your information. Will definitely try graphting now! I have fruit trees that I've started from seed that produce tremendously now but took a few years.
Greetings from https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuY2r3nlijdexJXwMPTE0QQ If you had taken cuttings from the peach and rooted them, you would have gotten that same peach but MUCH, MUCH, larger. Instead of being a dwarf, which the rootstock controls, it would have been full size. Now, you're 100% correct on planting the seed! That would have been a crapshoot at best. I'm propagating rootstock for my new nursery AND I'll be rooting cuttings from my own fruit trees. Those rooted cuttings from producing fruit trees will eventually give me scions to graft onto my semi-dwarf rootstock.
For the average home grower, you're spot on with bare root plants! You do get the entire root system that can support the tree.
Anyway, thank you for providing such sound advice and insight! Al
it’s called capitalism…& yes it’s a ripoff
Hey from Louisiana, my grandfather has grown muscadines for 30ish years.
Some varieties get bigger than a golf ball and are addictively delicious, a muscadine will only produce fruit if a male is present. One male muscadine will pollinate 2-3 female vines.
His favorites are the three following varieties, Black Beauty (female), Carlos (Bronze male), and Darlene (Bronze female).
He orders his vines from I-S-O-N-S (without dashes), because they ship bare root, and still take phone orders from a catalog lol.
My family loves them, and I'm confident you will too.
I have a few remaining sprouts of my Great Grandma's Transparent Apple Tree I've been growing from seeds.
I have an abundance of horsetail plants in my area, so I boil them into liquid gold to feed my plants.
3 of 3 blueberries from Tractor Supply were root bound. I had to soak for 15 minutes each and cut the roots free. I have to go dig up my loquat because I didn’t even check when I planted it like a rookie😅
You make my day❤
Such a helpful video — thank you! You just answered a host of questions I knew I had, plus a goodly batch of ones I didn't even know to ask. 🙏🌱
Thanks for this topic because I lost 3 baby apples trees and I’m like what the heck, is it me. One area was nitrogen deficient but the other 2 should have survived.
Unfortunately I have purchased hundreds no exaggeration hundreds of dry root trees from my county were bad. I finally found a source on ebay in my state that digs them up the day before he ships, great success. But he doesn't deal in fruit trees. Wish I could find a trustworthy source because I'm getting old.
rootstock is a huge part of growing trees in different soil types
First video with you and loving it. Cant help but find it hilarious you are a "lazy" gardener who using the "long & time consuming" method 😂
Just the first 2 minutes of your video told me we are sisters from different misters! 😂
I just got a fig tree last year. It is dead. It looks like the dear ate the ends of its little branches??
My husband said his dad could never get successfully get fig trees to produce due to squirrels. What do you do to protect your figs?
🎉female and male in one plant. I am blown away
PS this video was SOO informative! thanks for the awesome content.
Amazing information ❤
Did he say you couldn't cause he thought you couldn't or because he just didn't want to grow fruit and now he can just get it from you?
