Fairly common. Bristles on the leaves. Often find them stuck on your clothes. Think later in the year have little bristly balls on them

Called stickleback locally here. Seen a TV program where they were chopping it up to use in salad so should be OK for your dog to chew also. Happy gardening!

Sticky weed, we used to throw it at each other as kids

Cleavers, goose grass or sticky willy, dogs love it and use it as a natural purge as it goes through them quickly and cleans them out.

Sticky chicken (that might be a local name lol) here as the idea is the plants stick to animals that then wander around spreading the seeds! Completely harmless!! Fun to play with as well for humans 🤣🤣🤣

Sticky weed! My dog loves it, it’s so cute. I did let him gorge on it once though and he threw it all up on my carpet lol, so maybe don’t let him eat it for like 10 minutes at a time.

Does no one call this Goose Grass anymore? I’d never heard it called Sticky willy or Cleavers until the last week or so and haven’t seen anyone call it Goose Grass which is what I know it as.

Sticky wicky or sticky weed where I’m from. Not sure of it’s toxicity to dogs but I know the little green sticky balls on it can be dried out and used as a coffee substitute. I would read up on it before trying it though.

We can eat them too! I steep them in a big jug of cold water, they taste slightly like cucumber and act as a mild diuretic if I remember correctly.

My dog loves this too, it’s the only plant she’ll eat.

Sticky bud in Hull, East Yorks.
Harmless beyond being a nightmare for matting dog coats

  19. Sticky weed! I have no idea if it’s okay for dogs, but I think you can make it into tea
