  1. I thought about getting one of those. My patio has “evolved” but for sure the wheels would break off within a month. Still, I like the idea that you can put a shade cloth over it to protect from summer heat. What variety of strawberries do you grow?

  2. This tier garden planter is way more reasonably priced than the other company that wants way more for a similar product.

  3. I love this idea but we have very high winds here . I live in the hills overlooking Lake Erie 60 miles south of Buffalo. They would blow over for sure.

  4. I tried out what you had suggested with window plants. Unfortunately, due to the weather and lack of sun, didn't work. But. I can pat myself on the back and say: "i tried it, now I know what won't work." Thank you! Can't wait for planting season to begin. 🙂

  5. I have the shallower stackable planter and it's great! I did have to water the plants individually sometimes as they weren't getting enough water when I filled the top reservoir. Question…can you plant a variety of plants in the planter? I'm thinking strawberries at the bottom and herbs on top?

  6. I have one filled with strawberries also. But am still waiting for them to produce well. Wanted to get another one but it was too expensive for me at this time. SS just doesn’t help you buy things .

  7. Hey Brian! I’d like to see if you could beat #garlicchallenge next year when Chad @DownHomeBackyardGardening and I kick off next year’s challenge (have to rerun it to make up for this year’s issues) in a Greenstalk. It might even be a fun side contest to see what’s possible. I’d be down for sure so please let me know your thoughts.

  8. I ordered a Green Stalk with your discount code about a month ago. Mine did not come with a lid for the water reservoir?? Is that a add on? Or was it missed in shipping? We also purchased a 24" stone to place it on from a box store. So far, I really like it.

  9. I love my Greenstalks. I have 3 originals and will be setting up my 4th original very soon. I plant peppers (jalapeños, sweet banana, Anaheim, cubanelle and poblano). I use wooden hot dog or marshmallows skewers in the pockets to support each plants (to keep them up right). Lettuce and kale for the cool season. Herbs year round as well as a few flowers like sweet alyssum. I've had terrible luck in the past trying to grow strawberries so maybe I'll try some in my new Greenstalk. Thanks for the inspiration! ❤

  10. Green Stalk planters are like potato chips: you can’s stop at one! I now have five of them. I’ve started to make two towers from one, each of them 3 tiers high, for our patio. Since I’m a shorter person, this makes it easier for me to tend to the upper tiers. You have to buy a couple of additional parts, like a second base, the top water reservoir, and a lid.

  11. The wheels are amazing on a deck as well. And you can use the wheels on the rotating base so you get the benefit of both.

  12. I have a cooking channel and people do complain about the music; I’m not sure why. It’s my husband’s favorite part of editing my videos and I’m not going to dare tell him to omit it. People feel so free to complain about so many things….from the valid to the bizarre. Oh the stories I can tell. 🤦🏻‍♀️. Thanks for the Greenstalk tutorial Brian!

  13. So many gardening videos are recommending greenstalk right now and offering "discount codes."
In my experience, they are a waste of money. They're horribly expensive for the average gardener, things needed for the greenstalk are not included and are "add ons" that up the price considerably, they do tip over when it's windy, and it costs a fortune to fill them with soil.
I'm not sure a content creator would purchase multiple greenstalks at the price the viwer has to pay–i understand using them when you receive them free from the company but using multiples are extremely costly. At least for me and my garden.

  14. Hi Brian. Can you tell me what variety of strawberries you grow? Thank you. Happy Easter weekend.

  15. Happy Easter to all of your family and yourself! This is a great option for sure! I am thinking that you wouldn't have to use all tiers at once if your didn't want to. I don't know how much weight my balcony can hold but once i figure that out this will go on my list of gardening items to buy! Thank you and have a wonderful weekend!

  16. if you are going to water the greenstalk by hand and as you showed, you filled it up, how often do you do that is you don't have the automatic watering system? Every other day? And how about during the heat of the Midwest summer, every day?

  17. This is exactly how I grow my strawberries. I have a large netted bag that slides over the top to keep the birds out!

  18. Lettuce, green beans both do best in greenstalks. I will never grow strawberries in anything other than my green stalk- no bugs. In ground the bugs and critters get all 3. I find I can grow as much in 1 greenstalk as an 8×4 raised bed and no pests to share with.

  19. Good for you 🙌🏾I see you are starting to become addicted to the green stalks as well🤗👩🏾‍🌾

  20. I know I might be mistaken, but doesn't the high cost of the greenstalk and all the potting soil far surpass the value of the strawberries you harvest?

  21. Thx for posting! Looks like its gonna be highly productive! Question..whats the plan for when wind comes??

  22. I love my Greenstalks, and I'm seriously considering getting my 11th Greenstalk because they have that pretty lilac one during this current sale which I do not have yet! I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with yours. FYI, tomatoes do really well in Greenstalks. And so do potatoes, sweet potatoes, bush cowpeas, any patio style plant like baby okra and patio tomatoes. I've also grown cucumbers and peppers in my towers. Herbs do really well. I've grown dill, rosemary, sage, thyme, oregano, and mint. I love having a dedicated herb tower.

So far, the only thing I've grown in a Greenstalk that didn't do well were my peanut experiments. There just isn't enough room for the flowers to do their thing root down to grow the peanuts. I did get some peanuts, but it was a very pitiful harvest.
