In this week’s video we are continuing my New Garden Design Series at my very good friend Tina’s small garden in Langdon Hills, Essex, England.
Their garden had been rather neglected for the whole of 2024 whilst they’ve had some internal building work done, including the addition of a new conservatory.
They’ve asked me to help them with a complete garden makeover and today you can see Days 7 & 8 of our progress.
I’ve measured the plot, drawn up a scale plan and produced the design which they are both happy with, and in this week’s video we are planning the new shape of the lawn and building & planting a rock garden which we think turned out beautifully.
The plants we added are:
Hellebore – Ivory Prince
Brunneras – Alexandria, Jack Frost & Looking Glass
Ferns – Pellaea, Polystichum & Asplenium
Heucheras – Peach Flambe, Timeless Night, Ginger Ale & Lime Marmalade
Vinca Minor – Illumination, Alba & Valentine
Bergenia
Lamium
Tiarella – Pink Skyrocket
Anenome
I hope you enjoy this garden design series where we will be removing anything we don’t like, keeping the things we still love, and giving Tina & Keith the garden of their dreams 🩷

Hello again! Wow I am so impressed with your re-imagining of Tina's yard. Not everyone can actually do the work involved so I am really impressed with you two. How nice for you both to do a project like this together. It will look beautiful once the plants settle in. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
So great to see our Enthusiastic Gardener plus 2 working wonders in this garden. Was a bit worried when I saw the vinca! We had to dig ours up as it took over !! Wonderful ideas. What a team. God bless all. Philomena. 🙏🏼❤️
The rockery is so beautiful. Well done to you both.
Well done ladies( and Keith!). The rockery is beautiful, can’t wait to see it in a few weeks when the plants have established. It’s so exciting… can’t wait to see the garden when it’s finished. Have a lovely evening, and thanks for sharing your project. 🌷x
