Thank you for posting to r/plantclinic!

It looks like you may be asking about a cactus or succulent. In addition to any advice you receive here, please consider visiting r/cactus r/succulents for more specialized care advice.

A common problem with cacti and succulents is etiolation. This is when a succulent stretches or becomes leggy. Reply with “!etiolation” for advice.

They need bright direct light and very well draining soil. Your pot looks like it’s too large, so will hold on to moisture for too long. The soil needs to dry out completely, ideally in less than a week for plants that small.

You could try a succulent mix for them. I like Bonsai Jacks Gritty mix. It won’t hold water like other soils. And definitely, like others have said, more light!

Pot is too big, should ideally be no more than 1-2 inches bigger than the root ball. Soil looks too dense, so it will stay moist for too long, leading to rot. They want a lot of light.

I just mist mine with a water spray on a warm day so it dries quickly. Then I water properly every few months. The less fuss I make, the better they do 🌱

Mine have been doing well with sunshine and with me pretending they don’t exist.

They seem to thrive on the neglect. That or they’re just introverts.

    Bright bright bright light

Only water when soil is bone dry

Use succulent specific soil. Must be very well draining

Place in a tiny pot. The roots like to be bound and less moisture will be held.

Avoid unnecessary misting or fertilizing. Especially if you already live in a humid area.

Remember, these are desert plants. They like it dry and warm.

    Best of luck!
