This is a NOID that I got back in November. It has been in a wicking pot with african violet soil from RePotme. I got it while it was blooming, and it continued to bloom non-stop until the end of March. However, since mid-January the outer leaves have been turning the color you see in the image. Blooming was unaffected, and I snipped off some of the worst colored leaves in early March. But the remaining outer leaves are continuing to discolor. It stopped blooming about 2 weeks ago.

It had quite a bit of light for most of the time I have had it (via grow light), and it seemed to flourish…until it wasn't. I thought it might be getting too much light, so I moved it to a lesser lit area about 2-3 weeks ago.

I have fertilized it once after the problem started getting worse in case it was a nutrient deficiency and saw no change.

I have recently stopped wick-watering in case the constantly moist soil is causing issues, but prior to that I took it out of the pot to examine the roots, and they looked perfectly healthy.

Any idea what is going wrong? Any help is appreciated.

  1. I should add that the specks are just dirt and dust. I inspected the plant for pests and saw none.

Following. I’ve had the same issues with one

The pot is too big. Not sure that’s the problem for sure, but it would benefit from a smaller one

I had the same problem with many of my plants and I started supplementing with calcium. I bought a cal-mag supplement marketed for cannabis plants.
