This white stuff keeps creeping on my rubber plant. Not sure what it is or how to get rid of it (assuming it’s harmful). Any insight would be greatly appreciate!

Plant is only watered when first inch of soil is dry and it has good drainage. I live in Colorado so it’s generally pretty dry but I’m also in a basement apartment so it can be relatively humid. Plant also gets good light from grow lights and from a sky light.

You can just scrape it off ( it’s mold ). try to increase air flow and reduce watering for now.

I tend to sprinkle cinnamon powder over the surface of the soil if I ever have any mould problems.

Don’t wash it away, for anything it can be beneficial microorganisms. The environment allows it to proliferate. Unless the plant reacts negatively then I wouldn’t bother. Normally this is a good sign that you have a good established colony.

If it were an issue down the road I’d remove the root ball, remove soil and use straight hydrogen peroxide (3%) and repot.
