The tiny new blooms were struggling to reach above the leaves So I tried to help them and used sticks to open the leaves a bit and make some space for the blooms to reach the top. I’m not sure now if it’s okay. What would you do?

I do the same thing when I’m trying to make my crowns more even! It works like a charm, but don’t be worried if you have some callouses on the petioles where the sticks were touching them. It won’t harm them at all!

I used to grow show violets, so when a crown wasn’t growing in the perfect shape, using skewers to move them back into place helped a ton. It looked funny, but within a couple weeks, the crown always ended up perfect!

Also, the flowers will find their way to the surface even without the skewers. You’re definitely helping by preventing them from disrupting your crown shape, but really don’t worry too much
