When I brought home my first flf I gave it a thorough watering and have since learned that might not have been the right idea. The leaves used to point upward and are now flattening out. Today I noticed all the bottom leaves were falling off … I do have it in a south facing window and have let it dry out. Am I killing my plant?

How cold was it when you brought it home. Could be transit/temp shock.
Why do you think watering it was bad? You said it dried out, I’d suggest you water again and continue watering regularly. If it’s drying out in a few days it’s not rotting.
It wasn’t cold when we brought it home, I think it was in the 70’s. I really doused it with water and some plant food and then read that you can easily over water it. I just checked its soil the other day and it still seems moist, so I don’t know if it’s ready for more water yet.
I got it 3/23 from Home Depot
Fiddles loose leafs at any kind of stress. Any major changes in light or watering can cause it. I think your fiddle is just adjusting to its new home. Also sometimes they will loose a leaf just because you looked at it for too long. Generally speaking if you have a well draining soil it’s hard to over water in terms of how much water. You over water by frequency of watering.
