You sound so much like my sweet Nana today. We'll just plant a bit of this and a bit of that and nothing needs to match and it will all be beautiful. She wasn't big into gardening but she liked having pretty things in pots on her patio and if she thought it was pretty then it was worth a spot in a pot even if it didn't really match anything else.
Just so you know you are pronouncing Honeoye strawberry correctly. I worked at my uncles small fruit nursery for years and that is how it is pronounced not just by us but by all commercial growers we worked with.
on your website it doesn’t say it is fairy lights are battery operated or 120 V. So I assume it has some type of DC connector since I’m not seeing Solar powered?
I have a question about a lilac tree. I have ordered a 5 foot little kim lilac coming and I am wondering if you could give me some tips to make it survive. Love all your videos, have helped me so much.
Oh! I so agree about planting perennials in place of annuals. I use my geraniums in pots and beds because they do so well here in zone 7b. I also enjoy a cutting garden of Zinnias.
…. Someone suggested to me, for discouraging birds from eating your strawberries- paint some strawberry sized rocks red and as soon as you start to see buds forming- place them in your strawberry bed…. The birds will come and when they peck on the “rock berries” they dont get anything good to eat so move on. When strawberries are done pick up rocks and save for next year…. Benjamin and Samantha might enjoy this project. 😊
If you’re going to cover tree roots with mulch, be careful not to cover the root flare. I would love to see you bring in an arborist to walk around and talk about what you’re doing right or wrong and what you might consider changing.
I'm with you Laura, I have 3 small beds for annuals and I'm trying to add more perennials everywhere and just focus on the 3 small beds for annual color.
Thank you for introducing me to Proven Winners! This will be my third year ordering annuals and I get so excited on arrival day. My budget isn't crazy as I am an elementary teacher, but I sure love the bang for my buck. THANK YOU again and have a beautiful week! To comment on YouTube Premium, I have it just for Garden Answer! I also am a channel member so I can see your videos earlier! I'm a Garden Answer GEEK!!
Love the long recap videos!!! Question… you are always talking about your high PH soil versus acidic soil. Can you explain the difference? What does pH stand for? Is it possible to purchase home test kits or is it something you have to have done professionally to find out what your soil is like?
I don't pay and I rarely see ads from you guys. .. I do get more ads from other creators. But also. You guys are the reason for me being on YouTube. ( First people I started to watch).
Been meaning to ask something. Several days ago I saw an AI generated thumbnail for your channel. It appeared to be your channel. I didn’t have time to watch at the moment. When I went back to YouTube to watch it, the AI generated thumbnail was no where to be seen. Were you guys aware of the thumbnail or did y’all do that as a test?
I've had strawberries in raised beds for many years and I'm in zone 3. I put a heavy layer of straw over them every fall and take it off in the spring.
😂Laura, I also understand the use of boards to fill the last 5 strawberry raised beds as you thought. I saw a funnel situation 😂 men speak short hand and women are all about the details ❤
The Proven Winners Nepeta is called "Chartreuse on the Loose" They do have one, but it isn't called Pardon my Chartreuse… I don't know why you didn't see it on their website.
I have watched Laura at the raised bed with the fruit tree espalier proclaiming her desire for these beds. I hope they work out. I bought the gardener’s supply veg trug for my gardening. I am now 71 and it is so nice to grow and harvest at waist level. I recently bought the cover and I am hoping it will deter the cabbage worm butterflies. I plan to put in squash after the lettuce bolts with hopes it will deter the squash vine borer moth.
When you plant perennials in raised beds with a false bottom or on legs they aren't insulated as well during our cold winter months and may not survive the winter. The cold air circulates on all four sides of the bed making it less cold hardy. When you have dirt all the way to the bottom of the planter insulates it better and you have a better chance of them surviving the winter.
My three foot height raised bed is great it is now 4 years old and on the bottom we had to cull out some small maples so I cut up 2 of them and put them on the bottom and then also filled in the same as you did .Unfortunately we didn't cull enough and now the only sun I get is morning sun so I am limited in what I grow…
I consume a lot of YouTube and kept suffering through ads. Finally, one day I had it because I felt the ads were longer than the video. I took the plunge and it is worth every penny to get YouTube Premium.
It’s the same way with people too, Laura. My grandpa was fine, old but fine, he went to take his nap and he died. He was diabetic but healthy and he just died in his sleep. When we are born we have an expiration date. God knows this date but for everyone else it can be a surprise. I know you this so I’m not sure why I felt the need to explain ❤ said with love
I religiously watch your show and would never miss it, and I force myself to tolerate the ads. But I think you’re being a little disingenuous, not ever to show I watch has ads i

If you stress over everything that needs to be done in a garden, you're likely to experience burnout.

Lawns do have merit! 💚 … for play areas and it gives your eye a rest, setting off plant beds.

Thanks for the long recap today! Sometimes it helps us slow down and smell the roses 💐🪻

Love the visible change in attention from work to the children! Great job prioritizing the children and balancing work!

Honeyed is the name of a town in New York, located near the City of Rochester.
Love the new additions to your website. ❤ Those risers!
My son named a turkey after himself. We thought it was hilarious, and that dam thing outlived all of the critters we had in that round of poultry.

Good morning everyone!
Laura, I feel the same about socks..

The orb I think would look really cool in a planter peaking out of plants.

Hi 👋 Aaron and Laura

I’m really curious if you considered a stepable for the orchard?? Pros/cons for that space??
Roly poly's ate strawberry's that weren't up on straw. Our experience.
Where / How do you see your garden (as a whole) in 10 years from now?
I do watch a ton of YouTube gardening content. My daughter got me a premium subscription for Christmas and it is glorious, lol. No more ads!
Ohhhh, I love the new store items !
When we had our pond we saw more snakes come in. Hiding under rocks. Not poisonous snakes but it can startle you.
Johnny's Seeds you should be a sponsor of Garden Answer after Laura said you do such a great job labeling your seed packets just a thought.
