Look at your raspberries, last I checked mine had yet to do an appearance. Didn’t get to split them last year but definitely will soon as the weathers mellows
The dollar store had some clear cloches. I also use gallon jugs with the bottom cut off to cover new plants. I should think a net or mesh would work well for protecting plants
So excited for your tulips! That will be quite the show. Mine here in the burbs have buds as well. Hopefully we will see them soon.
Definitely cover those seedlings from the birds. I have those bottomless zipper greenhouses and they work great to start seedlings off with protection. I have a couple mini ones I got at Aldi a couple years back. They would be perfect for your raised beds. Just need to stake them down at the corners.
Congrats on your tulips in your raised beds!! 🌷🌷I was totally surprised when my tulips planted last year (February) came back this spring in my raised kitchen garden. I worried that all the tomatoes etc being watered would rot them. Nice surprise! Happy April!
I'm stoked to watch your garden grow over the upcoming season 🍀I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but do you turn off your irrigation system over winter? How did you water the plants that are supposed to come back after the cold?
The dollar store carries small mesh garbage cans that I use to cover new transplants. The bottom is also mesh. Just turn upside down over plants. They still are able to receive light. I also use over seeds just planted. You can use landscape pins to hold them down. My nemesis are BUNNIES. Where is Elmer Fudd???
What is under your 30 gallon grow bags? Rollers with a saucer? I had to water my 15 gallon grow bags twice a day in summer. Had a hard time finding a saucer to fit that did not have a high price tag. ❤

A square frame made of 1×1” and wrapped with hardware cloth, screen or white shade cloth will keep birds out …. You could remove the greenhouse green cover of winter and replace with the above. Good luck
I got raspberries for the first time last year, and put tomato cages around them. They took up much less space !
Yes, tulips! Calling it now: You did it!! 🌷🌷🌷 I put my bulb lasagna pots outside March 26 (Chicago 'burbs), and have moved them to a protected area when we had a lot of rain, and the other night when it was 25° so the blooms didn't get nipped. They've been awesome — I've had daffodils for almost two weeks, and the tulip buds are poking through too. 🤞 I'm with you: Staying dry is the key through the winter and when the nights are consistently still freezing. I daresay we're in the clear? They can handle a little cold if it happens. Ready for next year!
What size pots do you have your raspberries in?
If you have a piece of white tulle you can clip it on to edges of bed with clips and light can still come through for growth until your seedlings get a little bigger 😉 Thanks for sharing 😀
I’m so excited for you about your tulips. I’m going to enjoy seeing them.
Bagus sekali tamannya, banyak berbagi jenis tanaman
Hi Bethany, Congratulations on the tulips! How do you prevent the long greenhouse from getting blown in the wind?
Looks good for April. My tulips look about the same in ground and I'm out in Aurora.
