It’s time to add more spring color to our terrace! In this video, we’re planting up our large hanging baskets with a soft and cheerful mix of hellebores, pansies, and willow branches. Join us on a quick trip to the garden center as we search for the perfect perennial centerpiece—and then come back home to assemble everything into fresh, early spring containers.

We love using hellebores in hanging baskets because they can be planted out into the landscape later. With our favorite Coast of Maine potting soil, a “make it pink, make it blue” color theme, and a few laughs along the way, this video will hopefully inspire your own spring planting—even if the weather isn’t quite warm yet.

  1. Love seeing you guys, especially the guy with the cap. You have the cutest smile ever and a pleasant personality 💗 your new subscriber

  2. Beautiful containers! Question – when you moved into your Home was the yard a blank slate? How did you decide how to design your gardens? They are stunning when in season 😊

  3. I just put hellebores in my front porch urns with faux pussy willow branches, look great! Love your hanging metal baskets. I am 20 minutes from Niagara Falls, Ontario🇨🇦

  4. I love the style of the hanging baskets. The flowers are soooo pretty 😍 ❤. Ya'll will enjoy them so much. Enjoyed watching. Thanks for sharing your video. 😊

  5. 🌞cool, breezy, chilly here in Northern Va, I really like your baskets and love the helleborus as the center piece, such beautiful blooms that will be more appreciated looking up at the beauty they keep discreetly hidden, the pussywillows are the crowning glory🥰stay warm, it will be cold here tonight, covering everything at the Nursery.

  6. From one container royalty to another (I'm a container queen), those are stunning arrangements. I love the idea of pussy willow branches.
I feel sad when your videos end. I enjoy you guys so much.

  7. Those pansies are perfect. Love the way these containers turned out. It was such a fun video with your lively banter.

  8. Hi guys -Idaho is considered part of the Inter-mountain West. West of the Rockies and east of our coast ranges-Sierra, Cascades etc.

  9. They are beautiful! I love these he is hanging containers they are in as well. And I will be heading to faddegon’s tomorrow because I have been waiting for hellebores! Great video. How did you like the snow the last 2 days. Enough already 🤞

  10. You have inspired me to check TJ for pussy willow branches. Living in the mid-Atlantic region (MD) I can relate to the close proximity to various environments such as: coast and beaches, mountains, historic sites, and great cities. I’m also close to great public gardens and museums. I LOVE living here!

  11. Speaking of distances and how long it takes to get somewhere – I live on “the plains” and the nearest Trader Joe’s is a 4 hour drive 😢

  12. Eric you’re a sweetheart collecting all of Christopher’s empty containers for him. Hanging baskets looks elegant. I can’t wait for our weather to warm up. We received a dusting of snow today. Can you believe it, and still in the minus temperature range. Sending hello from 🇨🇦

  13. I told hubs the boys have a new video! Yea! lol! The reference to boys is meant with a kind heart. We’re old enough to be your parents!

You offer such good ideas for your planters. I like that they’re a bit out of the ordinary. I have one request…you may not have the time since you both have jobs, but I would love you to tour not only your personal gardens, but maybe another local garden. Living in southern Illinois, I enjoy tours from other parts of the country. Thanks for the videos! Always enjoyable!

  14. I found your channel yesterday. I have watched several of your videos. You have a beautiful garden. What type of mulch do you use in the Spring?

  15. And when this west coaster (Portland, OR) went first to the east, I was flabbergasted by how close everything is. When I first went to Philadelphia and saw how close both Washington, D.C. and Chesapeake Bay are, I jumped in the car and went. Amazing. The planters look so good. The pussy willows add just the perfect look.

  16. I am your viewer who lives an hour southeast of Buffalo, here in Wyoming County. So yesterday was 22* and snow on the ground. We do not have any garden centers open yet. So can you say jealous? Love the simplicity of the planters, sometimes less is more. Perfect!!! I have grandchildren who are in their late 30's so, boys, I too can call you that and of course with a smile and a hug. Thanks boys!!!

  17. Ok so just found you two, subscribed, obsessed… THEN got my Gardners Supply Magazine, and you were in there too!!!

Am I new to this info? Probs, but made my day! Love the way you work together and show us your process. Your bubble is stunning and so inspirational!

    ☺️👏 Thanks for sharing!
