  1. During the lockdowns, the first that was sold out was toilet peper… And no, I won't take nettles as substitute 😅

  2. Lol, just remember to rinse the dandelions THOROUGHLY before using! Or you'll have a million little bugs floating around in your tea! 😅

  3. When my parents were first married, they were struggling to make ends meet so my mum cooked stinging nettle leaves. My dad thought he’d been served spinach and commented about how tasty it was. When my mum told him what he was eating, he was furious and refused to eat any more! From then on, my mum learned to be careful about what she called certain dishes. For example, dad said he hated stew so mum called casserole, and so on 😂 They were together for 59yrs until he passed away.

  4. one doubt about the poisonous version of the wild garlic, it stings on touch, not instantly, but a short later? because i remember as a kid camping outside we(some friends and i) found a plant that looked easy to harvest and it looked like the one in the video but a little bigger, we didnt eat it as we knew not to eat anything we found in the wild, but i began to feel a stingy sensation on the arms and i was the only one who touched the bulb

  5. In Greece they sell dandelion leaves as regular green vegetables, and serve little piles of cooked leaves as a starter.

  6. I got hooked on weeds after watching The Walking Dead and fantasizing how I'd survive if everything fell apart… Plenty of wild edible greens… Then you look to trapping meats, then seasoning with sea salt and pepper trees and peppery foods like nasturtium… And of course you have to know how to cook it without store bought fuel so in comes the rocket stove made of bricks or stones and mud… And then of course you have to learn how to preserve without refrigeration.
You can eat quite well if you know what to look for and what to avoid.

  7. I suspect that after you've eaten those 15 calories of herbs in your yard you will miss your grocery store. Best plant some potatoes or other calorie-dense foods if you hope to survive in what you grow.
