The leaves keep bending until they eventually break. As you can see I've been trying to support her with strings, but it keeps getting worse. However, there is constant new growth. Unfortunately there is no other space for me to put her to get more light. Any idea on how I can help her? How bad do you think this is? It's really my favourite plan in the world and she's been doing great for years, but this started a few months after I repotted her last fall. :/

The pot seems really small for a plant that size. Maybe you need to upsize it more. As for the lighting, I’d suggest getting a grow light if you can’t give it more natural light.

Its definitely an environmental issue. Its clear from the way it has grown that its lacking in sunlight, which is pretty much to be expected. 99% of homes cannot provide adequate sunlight for a mature BOP. The leaves are stretching to find more light, making them skinny and prone to breaking under their own weight.

It also looks like the ties may be causing issues. If you don’t tie it up at all do the leaves still bend/break?

It’s getting way too big for the space! Those are huge plants. Might be looking for more sun. Do you have a front or back yard you can transfer it too?

Weak petioles from lack of sunlight and mechanical agitation (eg. Wind)
