Those beds will be long gone before those logs ever break down Sounds cool in theory though. I guess it’s fine if you just want to occupy space, but why not just use cheap dirt then
Then every year you will have to add more dirt due to the decay of the logs. Eventually you’ll reach the cost of dirt if you had filled it from the start. Not what she’s doing is wrong, it just spreads the dirt cost over a few years.
I do the exact same thing, except I don’t add any soil. I buy bulk compost to top off the bed. I may add some potting mix on the very top layer if the compost is too course for seeds but for bedding plants the compost works great.
That’s not a good idea. Raised beds aren’t pots. If you add container media to a raised beds you’re asking for problems. Water retention and root rot among others. If you can’t afford a truckload of soil probably would be better just to continue using pots and peat or coco. A raised bed is a life long project that you shouldn’t start out by being cheap or you will undoubtedly regret the decision. Just the leaves you added will rob all nitrogen from the soil as it breaks down it’s the same reason we make compost separately. I’m not attacking you. I’m letting others know not to waste their money on a project that will bear no fruit.
I just built three 4 x 8 x 24 inch deep above ground flower beds it took 135 bags of 4.00cf to fill them and I still need 25 more bags I’ve spent $2,200 so far on all three including wood. Giving me 96 ft.² of growing space not including the two by 8‘ 7“ deep bad for my herbs. Spent $1197 on dirt alone and I’m still not finished. I need 25 more bags for my 4 x 8 to top them off after they’ve settled at $8.87 a bag. that’ll be an additional $227 for a grand total $2,450 bucks after tax and I have no regrets because I won’t have to worry about digging down and hitting a bunch of sticks every year until they rot, which will take longer than the wood, I used to build the boxes in the first place.. people need to stop being so cheap the dirt last years it’s worth the investment..
You can also save money using your local top soil instead of buying bags from the big box store. It will probably have weed seeds just remove when there small.Mix top soil peat moss and cow manuer and sand.
a little less peatmoss…. and a bit more stopsoil treat a raised bed NOT as a container (containers need more peatmoss) because to much moss will NOT help with airability and will not help with creating good soil later on. so use more topsoil ….. or else in 5 years from now youre raised bed will filled with soggy clay like ground and the fertility and harvest will drastically decrease.

Is there a chance that old logs could attract termites?
I'm having trouble with the first ingredient. Where do I find a girl in a bikini top to sit in the raised bed?
Don't need to expose your "stuff" to fill a raided bed!
How big is it ?

Add a adult women on the bottom layer for extra growth
thats a good way for me to get rid of all these limbs laying everywhere plus i got horse manure decomposing right now too
Organic material in the soil is not a good idea. It leads to fungus growth and rots and steals oxygen from living roots when decomposing.
I did this same thing and had to tear out all the logs months later.
We know this voice, happy Garden 🌱🌼🌱
That truck in the background is amazing. 🎉
I wanna fill you up with my man soil❤❤
Pee moss?
By getting in it yourself?

Not the best advice. Skip the logs for sure and consider other alternatives over peat moss.
Can I use mulch to fill mine then use the good soil on the top
Peat moss is organic, eventually compacted, use sand instead , top soil compost

More like how to make a thumbnail….
The decaying logs and leaf matter locks up the nitrogen in the little amount of soil you are using.
Also likely your PH is way off as well.
I always heard don't use logs because they steal nitrogen from what you plant.
I would never put anything in a raised bed that would not contribute to plant growth.
Peat is a depleting resource
That is a BIG raised garden!!!!!!!! Great idea!!!!!!!!!
No mulch

Nice rack……. Of Boards surrounding your garden bed.
do you have a video on how to make that garden bed?
How much is for the garden box only?
I meant is the
shipping free?
Do we mix all the layers together (not the logs) or keep them separated as layers only?
