So I came in this morning to find my plastic plant pot in pieces, a piece was very far off to the side, and all the pieces were there. I JUST repotted her Monday so I think an explosion wouldn’t be too far off.

I’m curious if anyone else has the opinion that it either exploded OR my custodians didn’t want to tell me the truth this morning that they knocked it off when I asked them.

What do you think? Could a rubber tree explode plastic pots? 🤣

I’m so sorry for laughing but I have had this happen to my pineapple once . It was because the roots basically consumed the whole pot (way too tiny) and the force finally made it explode but yours doesn’t look like that’s the issue. So maybe heat? Sorry this isn’t helpful, I’d also love to know the *scientific* reason on why this happens🧐

  3. My Easter cactus did indeed crack a terracotta pot, but plastic? I need a sprig of your plant, it definitely has superpowers 😁

Only explanation I could come up with is a fall

If someone knocked it off wouldn’t the saucer have broken too?!

    Was it 3-D printed?
I have a small one that cracked on a corner within a few months of receiving it nib as a gift (and it’s obviously 3-D plastic)

I have had this happen with pots I got from Temu, both of them exploded in the middle of the night

The soil on one side of the plant doesn’t seem to have launched to one side, so looks like it didn’t move much – what if it’s not the plant, but some drastic changes in humidity & temperature? What if the store were chilly and your home warm?

Welp… I guess that pot was _a little_ too small, haha!
