This seems insane, but it’s improved the health of our young fruit trees in the Epic Orchard immeasurably as we’ve planted 40+ fruit trees.

  1. I have so many reusable bags, that ive made sun shades for my plants out of them! I open the shades during the hottest part of day.

  2. Soooo, at what point do you stop doing this? And what if you hadn't and they are now mature trees? And would you do this if said mature trees had already had exposure to diseases and pests? I know my trees are probably 10 years ahead of yours….. maybe more? One was 09 or 10, the rest within a few years after that. But over the years have had what I now know is sunburn, brown rot (few years ago, but likely still in the area), and oriental moths….. and once upon a time had bacterial cankor…. not sure how long ago that was.

  3. If you want to go REALLY organic, use bee wax, pine sap resin or just plain clay. All of them would occur in nature and come in contact with trees naturally. Besides that, my nagging isn’t meant to downplay anything shown in this video! Not at all! Sunburn on plants really is a thing and to work against it really shows your love for them. If it’s the best and most affordable solution for you, than that’s awesome. But if there’s clay heavy soil, lots of Pines or you keeping bees, that’s a free option as well.

  4. We do that a lot in Spain, we use lime (the same used for construction) just diluted, it also protects from pests and ants, and can also be used to coat the outsides of houses in sunny areas to cool them as white reflects light

  5. I knew it works against certain bugs, never thought about the sun
Makes sense, the darker bark probably gets quite hot

  6. Calling painting trees organic behavior is hilarious. Didnt this guy after he had a mental breakdown after Covid? I saw him crying about being successful. I watched a video of this dude not understanding why his potatoes are green.

  7. There's some clay spray I'm going to use this year as they're gonna make it hot. It's porous as well. Forgot the name.

  8. Trees get SUNBURN???? How did the billions of trees survive through the millenia without the help of humanity!!!

  9. @epicgardening we use painting trunks of trees to avoid freeze cracks – in spring sun hits with sunshine and tree start pumping water in. And after sundown can come temperatures under -1°C or more and water in wood expands and make cracks in bark that can kill young trees ( not just from that, it make place for disease and fungi). 10. Would you paint blueberry bushes? Over 500 of them and they are about 14 years old? New to farming. Thanks for sharing!

  11. When I was growing up, one of my jobs was to paint my dad's avocado trees on his avocado farm/ranch. He had 1000s of acres, so it was a LOT! I have no fond memories of doing this task even though I know it was necessary.

  12. I had to replay it to see what the text said when he mentioned the "avochado", which made me wonder, "is the whole world pronouncing "avocado" incorrectly? So I googled it, in English and in Spanish. Nope! It's ah-voh-Kah-doh! I am at peace with the world.

  13. Eric hi
My name is Lesya I’m just moved in the Florida but I’m already planting my peach plum tree, orange lemon. I’m just start to carry my garden. Can you tell me please which one paint you use for peaches? I’m very appreciate for you. Thank you very much.
