Welcome to my backyard grocery store! Today, I’m excited to share with you the bounty from my urban garden, where I’m growing my own food in my Texas garden. As a gardener in Zone 9a, I’ve learned to adapt to the hot weather and create a thriving edible landscape that provides me with fresh, homegrown veggies all year round. From vegetable garden staples to specialty crops perfect for the Southern climate.

  1. I’m thinking of starting my own veggie garden. For large harvest hauls, do you have recommendations to give them a longer shelf life without preservatives? or is there just a certain timeframe that you can have them stay fresh enough to eat?
