Welcome gardeners! Again. I’m trying to get these darn topiaries out of these pots again. This time for good though! I’m transplanting these topiaries out to the garden so they can start enjoying their life and I don’t have to worry about root pruning them anymore! 😆 Enjoy!

  1. Janey, I felt every bit of your pain and frustration in this video. 😂 And agree, the juniper rash is terrible but you did those topiaries a good deed and they will be so much happier for it. 😊 Maybe those aquapot insert things would be a good choice in the awkward shaped pots?

  2. I'm not sure this is the best spot for these plants. Seems like they should be by a doorway or on a patio but not out in the middle of the garden. Also, they don't make a great trio together. Sorry it was so hard to get them out of those pots!

  3. I think they look nice but if it were me I would have planted them like other specimen plants so they could show off on their own in their own spot. But that’s me. 😅

  4. I like the idea of moving them to the front but not all in same spot. Sorry but maybe asking for M. Glassman's advice, how he would place them might be nice and educational for all of us to know as well. ❤

  5. Janey, its always our dilemma…but this is what I learned. Use a branch saw, this is a curved saw that’s smaller used for pruning small trees. Cut the sides of roots inside the pot, and it will make pulling it so much easier.

  6. I think instead of a trio they should be separate. But that’s just my opinion. 😂 at the end of the day it’s your garden and if you like it then it’s perfect!🌱

  7. Hi Janey, everything just looks so beautiful. so much color. how about your sprial on the front corner of your house before you go into the shade garden. Genie… well I didn't watch the whole video before my comment. oh my gosh getting them out of those pots!

  8. OMG! You deserve an award for all that hard work… You’ve inspired me to get out in my garden this weekend! ✌🏽👨🏽‍🌾🌳🌳🌳

  9. Sorry to say after all your hard work, too close together, they are blocking the magnolia tree also. I think they need to be planted individually throughout the garden❤

  10. Oh my goodness I felt for you Janey, you poor thing.

When I’m not sure about where I’m putting something, I will take a photo of it then walk around my garden and hold my phone up with the picture towards me, and try to visualise it in the space I’m considering.

  11. You are killing me! I was laughing so hard. I have said the exact same thing about seeds (after all the cold stratification process) labeling, water, and the eternal wait. I said "I never want to see another seed packet again!"

  12. Have you tried the iScape app?
You can see how things look in your space before actually doing it. Tbh, I’ve never done it so I have no experience but I might try it out.

  13. Janey! Scott – owner of Pond & Garden in Petaluma advised me that you need to tie upright some select branches of the Atlas Cedar "Green Wave." He said don't allow the branches to rest on top of each other. Just tie them up a bit to create an arching effect, creating more interest.

  14. learned my lessons with pots too 😂 if i want to use pots with an uneven inside or a rim, i just put the plants in a normal big nursery pot and sink it inside

  15. HEY Janey! YOU are definitely super exhausted ! Just from experience you should wait for help when tackling those tough projects. Don't wear yourself down so much., we all care about you girl ! I agree with other comments on your trio being too close together. Maybe stager them along your pathway might be nice. Just loving suggestions from your average grandmother type. 😉

  16. Good Morning Janey, you made my day watching this video. You're amazing. You did it, yayyy. Love your videos ❤

  17. You have planted the trees way too close together.. I'm sorry, but they are bl9cking each others beauty. They should be in totally different areas in that garden. When you stand back a d look from a distance, they should not overlap each other. I do love your channel. Good luck with the rest of the Island planting. Mary

  18. I also have similar pots that I planted ferns in once then purple fountain grass in another time, nope not again I looked just like Janey trying to get them out of those pots.😂 I really liked the spiral evergreen where you thought about planting it with the lavender.

  19. 12:57 that view DOES look good! You’ve got structural on both sides of that path. Great job! And such good TV with the saga of the stuck topiaries and the little gardener that could! Thank you for sharing 😊

  20. Sorry Janey, but I was in hysterics watching you wrangle those plants out of their pots, LOL!! I can relate though because I have two pots that I love, but their shape makes it really difficult to get anything out of them! Maybe I should try sitting on the ground and using both my feet and hands like you did! 🤣🥰💐

  21. when i don’t know what to do if the plant is in a pot i move the plant there look at it in the pot and only if it looks good and can stand the heat do i plant it there.

  22. I like the spiral topiary in front of the office. I think it adds a nice weight to the garden. Is it not possible to get it into the ground in that spot? It may be a headache keeping it pruned, though. Whatever you decide I know it will be perfect for you.

  23. I loved the idea of your spiral in the 2nd spot you showed. Outside of your secret garden in the spot that you are going to plant a ground cover (I think that's what you said) in a bare spot. As soon as you showed that as a possibility I said "YES"!

  24. Your center island is so beautiful. I just love it. ❤. Man, it’s come such a long way in a short amount of time. ❤️

  25. When I weed or remove large plants, it helps me when I water the soil first!😊. Blessings 😮 garfening from .9a/9
