Have anyone been using this on their lawn? If so, how’s it working for you?

Never tried it. Is it supposed to kill weeds?

It works wonderfully, and it’s pretty cheap. Just mix properly, and don’t overdo it.

I’ve used it. It works if you got it cheap. I think it works out to 15-0-0.

  4. Don’t let your neighbors see you do that lol.

Ya I used it last fall worked for sure

As I understand, it is basically urea, in other words, a Nitrogen fertilizer. I’ve never used it, but I’d be worried about other additives that might harm the lawn.

As with ALL fertilizers, you need to know how much to put on and when. Otherwise, you’re just wasting money while adding to algae blooms wherever your water runs to, and/or you’re going to burn your grass.

Why spend all that cash when you can just buy 30-0-0?

  8. If you want to use liquid urea, buy the granular and dissolve it in water at the appropriate rate. Much cheaper than DEF per lb of N

PEOPLE! I was just asking to the ones that use this before, how did it work out! Y’all keep giving me suggestions. This is only $8, it’s not expensive in Mississippi I guess. I know about all the other products because that’s what I use on my front lawn. This is something I’m testing out in portion of my back lawn. That’s all.

It works fine. Haven’t burnt anything. I apply it straight with an HVLP electric paint gun from Amazon.

It’s not a substitute for a good balanced fertilizer but it does green up everything quickly and easily.

I usually apply right before sunset and lightly wash it off.

I take the house plants outside and hit them as well and they thrived last year.

F$%$@ing amazing!! I’ve been using it for about 6 years. It’s free to me at work. Since I looked up the MSDS, FOUND OUT ITS PURE UREA. I use it every year in the spring and early fall. Greenest lawn on the block.

how do you mix this? and how often to apply?

No. Don’t put DEF on the ground. Look as a landscape professional, it could be harmful for the environment. It’s right up there with people using Diesel fuel as a form of round up. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.

While it’s mostly urea and deionized water, there are other ingredients that are meant for emissions and not agriculture use that can lead to environmental concerns, such as nitrate leeching and ground water contamination. DEF is designed to work under high-temperature exhaust conditions, not in soil.

Personally i’d say use products that are meant for the application. If not anything, urea fertilizer is still a better bargain.

  15. Works but costs too much compared to alternatives.

  16. If you want to do this, find a fill station that has a def pump and save money.  Most truck stops will.
