Can't talk funny or put some baking soda make a song Put it on it it'll draw out the poisons. Got to live the country life got to learn the land and Obama by the way my daughter lives in Cookeville or just outside of it and she was getting pretty well inundated on her screen best of luck and love from Washington State and hopes that this goes away soon
❤ campho-phenique just getting ready just getting used to this speech talk to print
Praying for your healing 🙏♥️Please stay safe in your beautiful homestead.❤️
I pray you are ok from the storms that come thru Saturday night🙏🏻 There is a freeze warning for parts of Ky Sunday into Monday morning! Prayers and Blessings
God Bless you Kaye!
Appreciate the update! Ty no need to fret over the onions. They will be just fine, Keep them weeded and water. They take a beating and keep on ticking.
Once you get healed up from the PI, I bought some protective sleeves for my arms as I am always getting pricked and cut and they worked great. The company is called Farmers Defense and they make a variety of the sleeves for protection.
Thought Rose of sharon would be nice with it's abundance of flowers. Had several dozen plants and planted them all around my gardens. That was a mistake, they attract many pests, Jap. beetles & aphids the worst, covered them that devour the flowers in no time. I couldn't get rid of the plants fast enough LOL Bagged up and off the property. Just my experience Kaye.
Thank you for the tour of your garden. 🌿
Parts of Clarksville under water, Dawson Springs under water, Kuttawa under water and who knows what other city/community is dealing with this.
87! We were 57 yesterday with thunder and lightning for hours!
Those alliums look so pretty in those planters. cannot wait to see them in bloom! The Azalea is gorgeous. Mine died this winter so need to replace. So much repair to do….until the next storm, but, as you say, "Who knows what tomorrow will bring?"
Usually your camera work is excellent – but here I was motion sick UGH
Do you check the weather forcast before you make plans to plant?
Hi Kaye, I have said this many times. At the very first sign that you have been exposed to poison ivy you need to wipe yourself down with rubbing alcohol. It neutralizes the poison.
I had three hazelnut 'bushes' that i thought wouldn't grow more than 12 ft. I didn't prune them down and they took off reaching almost 30 ft. I was able to harvest nuts on lower branches but would advise pruning to get a bigger harvest you can reach. I love hazelnut coffee, hazelnut everything LOL
If you do raised garden the deer can't get to it as much, the weeds would be much less, a lot less work for you! Have you seen you tube channel living traditions homestead they have wonderful garden with no weeds! Work smarter not harder is my motto! Here is a video from them! https://youtu.be/A_sExBiy8ss?si=Zw69_lRebzCEwhzY
I use Cleavers Tea on poison ivy and Virginia Creeper rash. It might work for you. Be sure to do your research. Warm Cleavers tea compresses are very soothing .
Miami Mist could be used for the skin ailments also. Be sure to do your research.
Take care of yourself Kaye. Blessings.
We're not looking forward to all the weeds after all our rain also. Blessings.
Make a oatmeal pack to put on your ivey spots ir will cool off the area …
Jewel weed will also help the our break…. also never take a hot shower after working in a area always cool or Luke… it's the oil that speads from the poison Ivy
Oh the poison ivy! I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with that. My son used to get it awful here when weed eating. After drs and creams and no luck, he used BLEACH. I HATE bleach but it dried that stuff up quick! I’d rather itch because I really can’t stand bleach due to doing something stupid when I was 16🙄just don’t EVER mix any other cleaners with it. I really can’t see you painting bleach on your arms but if you get desperate….he said it stings a little. There used to be jewel weed around a pond in river pointe but I think since that farm turned into a subdivision, it was destroyed during the manicure of that yard. I’ve had you and your gorgeous homestead and hard hard work in my prayers. Hate to see your seeds wash away! But, things look great! This crazy weather….like we are under attack.
Please go to doctor for your poison ivy. I had it on my arm and it suddenly swelled to two times the size and was oozing. When I went they were shocked how bad. I had blood poisoning and the red was moving up my arm. Doc almost put me in hospital. They gave me such a strong antibiotic shot in my hip they had to give me a numbing shot first. He took a marker and drew the line top of redness near my shoulder. Said if red crosses to go to ER. It slowed down. But he said if it reaches my heart I was in deep trouble. If it’s hit or swelled go immediately
Thanks for the garden update and think you made the right choice on waiting about dealing with your poison ivy outbreak as difficult as that was. Just love your coral azaleas too. Lots of weather/garden challenges remaining but glad you have some help for now. Hope you have a blessed week…
Glad you are safe and so sorry about the poison-ivy. ugh. I'm so happy I'm immune.
Kaye, how about trying that barking dogs and gunshots gadget that Danny and Wanda use in their garden for the deer? It really works for them!
Honey WHY WHY WHY do you stretch out your work ? As we get older tucking things close an UP is key.Love your videos But to hear your breath patterns 😢 Glad to see your ok …
I HATE RoundUp but I had to give up after years of battling PI which I am highly allergic to and use it to eradicate my PI. Ahh finally life changing sweet relief
Everything looks wonderful!
So very sorry Kate. I bought myself some of those longer glove/arm covers that I wear when I work out side. Have you tried those? Again, so sorry. I know that must feel miserable.
What lovely and productive property you have on your homestead! How great to see your Rose Of Sharon bushes are doing so well, they will be beautiful. Love your update, love your channel, love you. ❤
Lovely gardens and land just beautiful
